Roster Questions Abound

According to coach McCarthy, there has not yet been a decision made regarding the roster status of TE Jermichael Finley and LB Nick Barnett, but he cautioned that I.R. was a possibility. One thing is for sure. Surgeries on both players revealed worse-than-expected injuries which call for long rehab.

If Twitter is to be believed, Jermichael Finley plans on staying off the I.R.
"JermichaelF88 Go Pack Go. Im coming back for Play Offs and the Super Bowl. See ya then!"

Nick Barnett is fresh out of surgery this morning, and hasn't yet made any mention of his plans via twitter etc.

Meanwhile, safety Derrick Martin has had knee surgery and has officially been placed on injured reserve. To fill the free roster spot, the Packers have called up LB Robert Francois, who you may remember had a decent showing in the preseason with a few big heads-up plays.

I'm sure we'll see more roster decisions in the coming days, as McCarthy sets up an army cot in the medical office and gears up for an extended stay. Until then, stay positive, Packer fans!
