Harris To Be Released?

I'll have a full game review of the Packers drowning of the Cowboys soon enough, but first I thought I'd share this startling Monday morning news nugget. Rumors are swirling around title town that cornerback Al Harris will be released! I'm unclear about the administrative protocol for this. One thing is for sure, both conerbacks Tramon Williams and Sam Shields have done a tremendous job subbing for the injured Harris. Williams may even be playing at a pro bowl level. I'm sure we'll have more details by the end of the day, but the report has been confirmed by Al Harris via text messages between himself and Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com. <-Check it out...

  1. I love Al Harris, over the years he has become one of my favorite Packers (in my life time) but I understand as bitter as the pill may be to swallow why he was let go. Williams and Shields, Williams is only gonna get better and if Shields continues to grow the way he has, were in good hands.

  2. I agree. It's Ted Thompson's M.O. Youth over experience. I think they just didn't see the benefit in paying Harris $2.5 Million to play 7 games, keeping in mind that he is in his mid 30's and completely exploded his knee last year. I should be posting about it soon.
