The Facts Of Life: Injury Report

With about 24 hrs
until kickoff, here are the cold hard facts (of life):

QB Aaron Rodgers has been ruled out for Sunday's game. Rodgers suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the Lions and is yet to be medically cleared.

This means that backup Matt Flynn, despite fan anxiety, will get the start. Behind Flynn will be Graham Harrell, who was elevated to the active roster today.

The following players will also be unavailable:

DE Cullen Jenkins (calf)
LB Frank Zombo (knee)
S Anthony Smith (ankle. moved to IR today as QB Harrell elevated to active status)

This certainly makes tomorrows game against the Patriots seem a lot tougher. At this point, all we can do is wait. Enjoy our Sunday of football!

  1. Here's a fun bit about Harrell I wanted u to check out. End of his senior season at Texas Tech.

    From Wikipedia

In the final regular season game against Baylor, Harrell shattered two of his fingers (the pinkie and middle finger) of his non-throwing hand during the second quarter. At halftime, Harrell's hand was x-rayed, and medical examiners advised Harrell to discontinue playing in the game. Harrell replied, "Tape my hand up. I'm going out." Harrell played the rest of the game with black tape around his fingers. He finished with 309 total passing yards and two touchdowns. With the victory, Tech clinched a share of the Big 12 South title, though fell short at going to the Big 12 Championship Game

Do you remember him in any of the preseason action this year, I know we can say garbage time, but a laser throw is a laser throw and he looked scary accurate. Personally I thought he looked better than Flynn, not to knock Flynn, but watching Harrell's throws gave me that "why isn't he the 2nd string" I believe Mark and Loren concurred with that thought.

  2. Awesome college story. I remember specifically liking Harrell in the preseason. But at this point in the season, against the Patriots, comparing Flynn and Harrell is just conversational fodder. Let's sit back and try to enjoy this game merely for what it is: A chance for Matt Flynn to show he's a worthy backup. Fortunately, because it's the night game, we have all day to watch exciting starting QB action...
