OFFICIAL: Desmond Bishop Signs With Vikings.

In the division known as "black and blue," it seems there's a pipeline going from green to purple. The Minnesota Vikings have made a notable habit of praying on Packer cap casualties—Jennings, Longwell, Sharper, some guy named Brent— and the trend continues as recent ex-Packer LB Desmond Bishop is the latest to trade his cheese for a plate of "hot dish."

Recovering from a torn hamstring, and with the team having just signed up-and-comer Brad Jones to a multi-year deal, LB Desmond Bishop was released by the Packers last week. Bishop was set to receive $3.464 Million this season. Frugal GM Ted Thompson would have none of that, as he appears not to have made a formal offer to restructure the deal before outright releasing the 28 year-old defender. With desperate swiftness, the LB-needy Minnesota Vikings signed Bishop to a 1 year, $1.4 Million contract. Unconfirmed reports say the Packers may have verbally offered Bishop $1.2 Million. His skills are untested post-injury, but with no starter set at MLB, the Vikes were in a bind. Bishop will play flanked by Erin Henderson and an aging Chad Greenway.

Many fans were sad to see Desmond Bishop go. But like an adult step sibling—or your weird uncle Frank—you'll still get to see him twice a year.
